For those that have partaken in a Yoga and Meditation retreat, the answer for most would be “yes”, bring on the next one please. From my experience of facilitating retreats most people don’t want to leave as the retreat draws to a close.

There is something potently powerful in filling your cup with like-minded souls. From the group meditations, walking in silence, the laughter, exploring yoga on a daily basis the sharing of healing healthy meals together, all contribute to a heartfelt connection with yourself and one another.

In saying that, it may not all feel like smooth sailing at times. When we slow down and allow ourselves time to “Be” present with what is, unresolved issues may present. From my direct experience of facilitating and being a regular retreat participant when a safe environment is created one feels supported and able to see what needs to be addressed. Often when we create spaciousness in our daily moments direct insights are felt, and one sees how to follow through with a little more clarity and ease.

Silence is offered at stages throughout, this can feel a little strange at first if you haven’t moved into silence in a group situation. What you ask, I have to eat my meals in silence? Once participants experience this, they comment after how amazing their food tasted because they slowed down and really focused on enjoying, chewing and savouring every mouthful, mindful eating, what a pleasure.

So, I would suggest participating in an annual retreat, if able even more that once a year. A day retreat, week-end or even a week-long retreat has such potent potential for healing, of body, mind and spirit.
