What is Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is an integrative approach to healing holistically, with an emphasis on yoga therapist/client relationship. Drawing upon Eastern teachings, philosophies, and concepts with the support of modern scientific research, encouraging mind, body and spirit into alignment to ease suffering.
Yoga Therapy looks at the whole person. Whether in full health or perhaps a more therapeutic practice is required if one is recovering from an illness or living with one. Also a way to allow your practice to evolve with you eg: pre –natal or post –natal.
All aspects of yoga are covered in these sessions from the physical layer to the heart layer. Catering for the individual, encouraging a personal daily practice of asana (posture), pranayama (breath work), mudra, mantra, and meditation
Melissa is happy to liaise with other health practitioners that you may be seeing.
A suggested time to work together is a 3-week trial where we work together weekly, and you have a daily practice which fits in with your routine. The daily practice is specifically designed for you and personalised with the key focus points you which to address.
Cost– First session is $150 – 1/1/2 hours. A Confidential Client Form is to be completed before the first session.
Sessions thereafter are $120 – 1 hour.
Online option is also available via Zoom, costing is the same.
Melissa is continuing her Yoga Therapy studies with – Yoga Therapy Institute mentors.

Having previously “dabbled” in different yoga classes & styles over the years, I felt inspired to go deeper into a practice for myself. Movement, dance, walking and going to the gym have been important aspects of my general well-being. After 7years of failed IVF in Australia we had planned to travel to the US for a final round of treatment. Melissa started sessions with me prior to my treatment, through my treatment and after my treatment. This included yoga exercises to help during the flight. Melissa tailored my sessions to each stage of my IVF treatment and pregnancy right up until the successful birth of our little one.
